Vanessa Sophir

Vanessa Sophir is an attorney specializing in Children in Need of Assistance (CINA) cases. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in American Studies from Cornell University and her Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School.

Prior to joining Bokman + Wright, Vanessa was a Senior Attorney at the Law Offices of Wakefield, P.A., serving as a child advocate in Prince George's County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City. She formerly practiced parental defense and family law as an associate at Hamlin Law Group in Silver Spring, Maryland. Before that she was a litigation associate at Schertler & Onorato in Washington, D.C. and an Assistant Public Defender in Fairfax, Virginia. After law school, she served as a law clerk for Judge Iscoe at the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.

Ms. Sophir is admitted to the Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia Bars. She lives in Rockville, Maryland.
